The Pregnant/Nursing Teenage Girls Project

In this project, we seek to resolve the conflicts that normally arise from having a teenage girl/s falling pregnant; the tendency is for the parents or custodian (in their anger and disappoint) to send away the girl to whoever the author of the pregnancy may be. We see this as “from the frying pan into the fire” situation because by so doing, the already vulnerable girl immediately gets exposed to all sorts of risks, dangers and uncertainty. IEHA reaches out to these cases and extends a mediating and caring hand offering safe shelter, care and counseling for the pregnant teenager.
